David Hall David Hall

David Hall (MA (Cantab) FRCO) is a versatile musician who is equally at home playing cathedral evensong, running a children's choir or directing a big band. He studied the piano with Laura Cole and the organ with Anne Marsden Thomas at the Royal Academy of Music. In 1996 he was appointed organ scholar at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. In the following years, he played regularly at Chelmsford Cathedral and became Assistant Director of Music at Felsted School in Essex.

David is now the Director of Music at Twyford School in Hampshire, a role he combines with freelance work accompanying, conducting and composing. Under his leadership, the children at Twyford School have taken part in seven professional operas at Grange Park and have recorded two CDs. David's most recent publication is an interactive book and video series "There's More to Playing the Piano".

David is Musical Director of Finchcocks Piano Courses in Kent. Finchcocks residential piano courses are for adult students of all abilities. Giles Smith of the Sunday Times, who attended one of David's courses at Finchcocks, described him as a "musical powerhouse" and students regularly rate their experience as "life changing".

David has spent many thousands of hours working with choirs. He has accompanied and conducted the National Children's Choir of Great Britain, The Chelmsford Singers, The Felsted Singers, The St Cecilia Choral Society and the chamber choir, Viva Voces. He took on the baton of Twyford Singers in September 2021.
